Description of biological activity

A very potent Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor antagonist (mAChRs), subtype M3. The compound was functionally active and displayed greater than 24 h duration of action in a mouse model of bronchoconstriction. In an assay on ovary CHO cell membranes of Chinese hamster, genetically modified with human M3 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor using [[3H]]-N-methyl scopolamine used as radioligand the inhibition constant (Ki) was 0.06 nmol/l. The assay on ovary CHO cell membranes of Chinese hamster genetically modified with human M1 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor the Ki was determined as 0.05 nmol/l.
